Tamagotchi Version Three

I cannot get my kid's pets to visit each other. I have selected "visit" under the IR tab, and pointed the pets at each other with the tops facing each other, and it says "stand by" but nothing else happens. I have tried playing games and sending presents (wrapped) and still nothing. My son's pet is 3 yrs and my daughter's is 2 yrs. Are they just too young to visit each other or send presents? Everything else is going great! Thanks for your help! Lynn aka indymom
Once it says standby you have to press the middle button(B) and point the toys at each other.
