Tamagotchi Version Four/4.5

I can't connect my v4 tamagotchi to a v3! I'm choosing others on the list, but then it only says standby and it doesn't work. What should I do?
You have to press B (the middle button) so it will say connect then you guys can connect. Make sure the V3 is also on ''Others''.
